Kylie Jenner sits at a dark-wood dining table at her mother’s home in Calabasas, California, flicking through display options for a forthcoming pop-up shop. The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner industrial complex needs to decide how to showcase products by her Kylie Cosmetics makeup company. She taps her black iPhone X with a silver glittery nail and turns the screen around to show a coterie of employees a vending machine.

“You guys, imagine this, but all in lip kits,” says Jenner, dressed in a black blazer and matching black patent Louboutins with bright red soles. “I think it needs to be a clear vending machine where you see all the colors.”

What her half-sister Kim Kardashian West did for booty, Jenner has done for full lips. Like Kardashian West, she has leveraged her assets to gain both fame and money. But while her sister is best-known for the former, Jenner has proved adept at the latter. In historic fashion.

Just 20 when this story publishes (she’ll turn 21 in August) and an extremely young mother (she had baby daughter Stormi in February), Jenner runs one of the hottest makeup companies ever. Kylie Cosmetics launched two years ago with a $29 “lip kit” consisting of a matching set of lipstick and lip liner, and has sold more than $630 million worth of makeup since, including an estimated $330 million in 2017. Even using a conservative multiple, and applying our standard 20% discount, Forbes values her company, which has since added other cosmetics like eye shadow and concealer, at nearly $800 million. Jenner owns 100% of it.

The Kardashians are keeping up with Fendi. The Rome-based luxury company is launching the second chapter of its #MeandMyPeekaboo campaign, with images and a video of Kris Jenner, her daughter Kim Kardashian and her granddaughter North West. To complete the family circle, music is care of son-in-law Kanye West — each short film features the artist’s “Love Lockdown” as a soundtrack.

“We wanted to show the most genuine and authentic aspect that is behind the people we collaborate with, and the complicity between the women of the family,” said chief executive officer Serge Brunschwig. “We have chosen to collaborate with family-related members that have been relevant in general, as well as known as a family, from the more controversial ones, who more and more express a courageous point of view and they have a vision, to more unexpected and unexplored ones. You know that at Fendi we love to dare and surprise.”

“The idea was to expand the concept of family, as it’s part of our history, and we wanted other families of women,” said Venturini Fendi. “In the case of the Kardashians, they are all three of them very strong women, with strong personalities. It’s an iconic family, who is known for its appearance, but we wanted to bring more of an intimate side to the table.”

The designer emphasized her friendship with Kanye West since his internship at Fendi, and who is “present with his music; there is a link between the family and the collaboration with us.” Venturini Fendi said the Kardashians “well represent the concept I wanted to express. They are less controlled here; you can see they let loose, with emotions surfacing. You can tell by the way they look at one another, it’s clearly intimate.”

The three new scents are dropping first at Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty pop-up at the Westfield Century City mall on July 14th. If you’re not a Californian or die-hard fan willing to fly there, fear not: the perfumes will then come to her website kkwfragrance.com on July 17.

The bottles are about as cutesy and Kim-like as you’d expect from a line of Kimoji perfumes. The scents themselves sound sticky-sweet and fruity, which is great if you’re into that kind of stuff. The Kimoji Cherry bottle is shaped like a cartoon cherry dripping in what we like to think is cream. The notes inside: “juicy red cherry, luscious raspberry, sweet strawberry, cherry blossom, gardenia petals, vanilla, woods and musk,” according to the brand’s Instagram.

There’s also Kimoji Peach, which is similarly a cartoonish peach dripping in a creamy white substance. Kardashian West described the notes on her Instagram story as: “Juicy peach, fresh nectarine, jasmine petals, peach blossom, creamy vanilla, sandalwood, and musk.”

Finally, there’s the non-fruit Kimoji Perfume bottle called Vibes. The patent black bottle is shaped like a word bubble with the phrase Vibes splashed across the front. The notes include watermelon, bergamot, juicy pineapple, apple blossom, peony petals, fresh jasmine, cedarwood, sunkissed amber, and musk.

All three scents will be for sale on July 17 on kkwfragrance.com. We’ll update this post when we know more about pricing.
